Women's Tennis Finishes in the Top 10 in National Championships

Tyler, Texas — The Wallace State Lions women's tennis team recently competed in the 2025 NJCAA Division I National Championships in Tyler, Texas. They finished 10th overall, matching their finish from last year.

Singles Results

Flight 1: Noelle D'Angelillo won her first match 6-0, 6-0 before falling to the number two seed 0-6, 0-6 in the Round of 16. 

Flight 2: Sophia Baillos won her first match 6-1, 6-0 before dropping her Round of 16 match 5-7, 2-6.

Flight 3: Jaedyn Martin won her first match 6-3, 6-4 before dropping her Round of 16 match 4-6, 0-6.

Flight 4: Indira Wilson won her first match 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 and her second match 4-6. 6-3, 6-3 before dropping her Quarterfinal match 1-6, 6-7.

Flight 5: Joslyn Newton won her first match 6-3, 6-4 before dropping her Round of 16 match 2-6, 0-6.

Flight 6: Chloe Baines won her first match 6-3, 6-4 before falling in the quarterfinals 0-6, 0-6.

Doubles

Flight 1: Baillos/D'Angelillo dropped their first match 0-6, 1-6 and fell into the consolation round. They won the consolation bracket final 8-6. Leading up to the final, they won 8-1 in the Round of 32, 8-0 in the Quarterfinals, and 8-0 in the semifinals.

Flight 2: Martin/Wilson won their first match 6-0, 6-1 before falling 1-6, 6-7 in the Round of 16.

Flight 3: Baines/Newton won their first match 6-3, 6-2 before falling 0-6, 0-6 in the Round of 16.
