Wallace State flag football kept its perfect season alive on Sunday at Sand Mountain Park in Albertville, picking up a pair of hard-fought victories over Snead State. The Lions opened the afternoon with a commanding 38-13 win before rallying in the second contest for a 33-20 victory to improve to 10-0 overall.

Game 1: Lions Dominate Early
Wallace State wasted no time taking control in the opener, marching eight plays on the game’s first drive before Emma Kile connected with Taylor Kindred for a 6-yard touchdown. The Lions’ defense quickly set the tone, forcing a turnover on downs and handing the ball back to Kile, who fired a 64-yard strike to Mariah Ragland for a 13-0 lead.

Jayla Rudolph’s interception gave Wallace another short field, and Kile again found Kindred—this time from 8 yards out—to stretch the margin to 19-0. After another Snead turnover, Kile and Kindred connected for their third touchdown of the half on a 30-yard pass play, making it 25-0. Snead State got on the board just before halftime on a pick-six, cutting the lead to 25-7.

In the second half, Kile extended the Lions’ lead with a 2-yard touchdown run, and Ragland sealed the win late in the fourth quarter with her second score of the game, a 39-yard reception that capped off a 38-13 victory.

Game 2: Wallace Rallies to Stay Perfect
Snead State struck first in the nightcap, taking a 6-0 lead—the first time Wallace State has trailed all season. But the Lions answered in the second quarter with Kile finding Ragland on a 34-yard scoring pass to take the lead, and after another Rudolph interception, Kindred pulled in a 4-yard touchdown catch to push the margin to 13-6. A 15-yard touchdown to Destinee Ealy later in the half gave Wallace a 19-6 advantage.

Snead fought back, capitalizing on a Kile interception to cut the deficit to 19-13 before taking a 20-19 lead with a third-quarter touchdown pass. But the Lions delivered when it mattered most. Early in the fourth, Kile led a 10-play drive, finishing with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Ragland to put Wallace back on top 26-20.

With Snead threatening to reclaim the lead late, Rudolph stepped up again, picking off her third pass of the day and racing 59 yards to the end zone for a back-breaking score. The return sealed Wallace State’s 33-20 win and their unbeaten streak.
